Chisago County, MN is located north northeast of the Twin Cities metro area. It is the northeastern most of the 11-county metro area despite its distance from the cities and its resort-like feel of its hundreds of lakes, parks and protected natural areas. Its county seat is Center City and its population is estimated around 42,000 (based on the 2000 census data).
Chisago County is most well known for its strong Swedish heritage and its abundant recreational lakes.
