Eden Prairie is the city located on the southern central portion of Hennepin County, located at the southwest part of the Twin Cities metro area. For most of its history, Eden Prairie had been a slow growing pastoral community. The bulk of its growth, residential and retail, came in the 80s and 90s following the construction of the Eden Prairie Mall in 1976 and its surrounding retail area. Eden Prairie, is home to the southwestern corner of the 494 loop handle so highways 212 and five run through it. North-south Highway 169 represents Eden Prairie’s easternmost border.

Eden Prairie, like much of the Twin Cities, is well known for its beautiful lakes and wildlife. Many residents have made their home here, based on proximity to some of the beautiful lakes: Anderson Lakes, Lake Smetana, Bryant Lake, Lake Mitchell, Duck Lake, Redrock Lake, Staring Lake, Neill Lake, Grass Lake and Rice Lake, to name a few. Eden Prairie is also known to contain the popular Flying Cloud Airport. Homes in Eden Prairie have a reputation for holding their value well, because of these factors and its proximity to downtown another popular Twin Cities areas such as the Mall of America and the MSP international Airport. It also has a large transit station making it even easier for residents & visitors to park & ride the public transportation connecting to other malls, the University, the light rail and additional lines of transportation.

It is estimated that Eden Prairie’s current population is somewhere in the neighborhood of 65,000 and is frequently rated among one of the highest income places in the US which could be witnessed by touring some of the single family homes in neighborhoods particularly surrounding its beautiful lakes and ponds. It is also noted for its quality of public schools, not only for education but also for its youth sports.
